Social responsibility is in
our DNA. With a lunch, drinks, barbecue or dinner from Kiem you show that you take sustainability seriously. Below you can read how we give substance to CSR.
Our food and drinks
Kiem wants to make its CO2 footprint as small as possible. Of course, that starts with the food we serve: 100% plant-based, 100% organic and as seasonal and local as possible. With these choices, we reduce our footprint compared to many industry peers.
Kiem collaborates with various companies with a strong focus on sustainability:
• Organic wholesaler Udea supplies the majority of our products. Udea works with (local) farmers based on fair relationships and fair prices.
• Boerderij Landzicht Biologisch is a Dutch family business that focuses on 100% organic cultivation of vegetables and fruit. Landzicht Biologisch provides a large part of our seasonal products from our own soil.
• De Groene Slijter is our supplier of high-quality organic wines and drinks.
• Brouwerij Budels is an organic, local brewery that produces its beers completely climate-neutral and uses water from its own source.
Inclusivity
Our food is tasty, healthy and nutritious,
where we always take into account allergies and as much as possible with the different dietary requirements, such as halal. We prove this every day in restaurant Gys and we do the same at Kiem. In this way we ensure that everyone can enjoy your event. In addition, we are working on a trajectory to include people with a distance to the labor market in our team. In this way we contribute to an inclusive society.
Measuring sustainability
From the start of Kiem we have worked together with Eevery , sustainability specialist for SMEs. Using Eevery's tools we measure the sustainability performance of our entire organization and compare it with other catering companies and
with our own previous achievements. In this way we challenge ourselves to continually take new steps.

Kiem is part of Impact030 , a network of Utrecht start-ups, scale-ups and established companies that are actively committed to realizing collaborations that lead to a more inclusive labor market, circular entrepreneurship, fair chain entrepreneurship, social cohesion and better healthcare.
