Food and drink

At Kiem, everything revolves around love, attention and creativity. We make everything from scratch (except the bread and cakes), so we know exactly what is in it. Our dishes contain plenty of plant-based proteins, legumes, nutritious ingredients, locally grown vegetables and fruits, and 100% organic products. Seeds and kernels provide extra flavour and nutritional value.

When composing our menus, we take into account nutritional values, such as the right balance of proteins. Thanks to years of experience, we know how to make plant-based food not only healthy, but also surprisingly tasty. What you won't find with us? Ready-made products such as manufactured meat substitutes. At Kiem, we opt for pure and real food that is bursting with flavour!

At Kiem we ensure an optimal balance of nutritional values ​​in our dishes. Our menus include:

  • Vitamins and minerals thanks to a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

No, definitely not! Kiem is about much more than just vegetables and meat substitutes (we don't use the latter). Our dishes are creatively composed with a wide range of ingredients such as legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, vegetable proteins and colorful, seasonal vegetables and fruits.

We don't use ready-made products, but create unique and pure dishes from scratch. This way we ensure a surprisingly tasty, nutritious and varied menu that goes beyond the standard plant-based options. Come and discover it yourself!

Yes, we make almost everything ourselves! From soups to salads and from sauces to desserts: everything is prepared with care and attention in our own kitchen. We do not make the bread ourselves, the bread from the baker is much tastier. We also leave the cakes to Rose & Vanilla. We only work with local partners who, like us, attach great value to quality and sustainability.

Our catering is for everyone, whether you eat plant-based or not. In fact, we also focus on people who don't normally eat plant-based. We want to show how surprisingly tasty, colorful and versatile plant-based food is.

Orders & Service Area

Kiem delivers in Utrecht and the following surrounding municipalities: Zeist, Bunnik, Houten, De Bilt, Maarssen, Groenekan, Vleuten, De Meern and Leidsche Rijn. Delivery outside this region is possible in consultation. Contact us for more information.

The minimum order amount at Kiem is €250. Unfortunately, we cannot deliver orders below this amount in a sustainable manner. For delivery, we charge a rate of €9.95 within the city of Utrecht and €19.95 for the peripheral municipalities of Utrecht.

In consultation, much is possible, as long as we can guarantee sustainability. Feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Yes, we are open 7 days a week between 9am and 9pm.

We prefer to receive orders three business days in advance. Because almost everything is homemade, this gives us time to prepare everything carefully. Do you have a last-minute order? Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Good question! Good question! At Kiem we avoid unnecessary packaging material by working with reusable solutions. Our dishes are delivered in sustainable trays, containers and transport crates that we collect after catering to clean and reuse. Sustainability & CSR

At Kiem, we make sustainability tangible with concrete actions and transparency. Here are a few ways we try to make our catering as sustainable as possible:

  • 100% Plant-based & Organic : All our dishes are completely plant-based and organic, which ensures a smaller carbon footprint and more environmentally friendly choices.
  • Local and seasonal ingredients : We work as much as possible with local, seasonal products, reducing the impact of transport and ensuring the freshness and quality of our food.
  • Sustainable delivery: We do our best to deliver as sustainably as possible.
  • No packaging material : Traditional catering often generates a lot of packaging waste, we believe this should be different. That is why we work without unnecessary packaging material. We use reusable trays, containers and sustainable means of transport, so that we minimize waste and your catering remains as environmentally friendly as possible.
  • Combating food waste: At Kiem we are actively committed to preventing food waste. We follow the guidelines from the knowledge base of Samen Tegen Voedselverspilling and apply them in our working methods.
  • Collaboration with sustainable partners : Our suppliers, such as Udea, Boerderij Landzicht Biologisch, De Groene Slijter and Brouwerij Budels, have been carefully selected because of their sustainable working methods.
  • Circularity and waste reduction : From our collaboration with waste processor de Clique to the use of an electric cargo bike for deliveries—sustainability is woven into our entire process.
  • Sustainability measurement : We use Eevery's tools to measure our sustainability performance and continually set ourselves new goals to further improve sustainability.

Catering often involves a mountain of packaging waste, such as cardboard and plastic. At Kiem, we do things differently: we say packaging no ! Our dishes are presented in beautiful, reusable dishes and containers, which not only minimizes waste, but also looks luxurious and well-cared for. Afterwards, we collect everything so that we can clean it and reuse it.

Although we have eliminated a lot of packaging material, we still use baking paper to a limited extent. (If you have a sustainable tip for this, let us know!) We continue to work to further reduce our impact.

At Kiem, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and social impact are central to everything we do. This is how we commit, in addition to the above, Kiem also does the following:

The chefs at Kiem consciously choose plant-based food because of the lower environmental impact and to let everyone experience how versatile, colorful, nutritious and incredibly tasty plant-based dishes can be. They are passionate about creative thinking and see endless possibilities in plant-based cuisine.

For example, we have a chef in our team with a green Michelin star to his name. Luckily for us, he chose to work at Kiem to show an even larger group of people how delicious and fun plant-based food is. His creative vision on plant-based ingredients is a valuable addition to our team!

Catering often carries a risk of food waste due to overproduction and unnecessary surpluses. At Kiem, we do everything we can to reduce the risk of food waste. We call a day in advance to discuss any last-minute changes, so that we deliver exactly what is needed. We consciously avoid overproduction, because we believe that sustainable catering starts with smart and careful planning. Our food is always freshly prepared and completely plant-based, which not only preserves the quality, but also ensures that it has a longer shelf life.

If there is anything left, we will share useful tips and information on how to store the products safely and sustainably. In addition, we work with the knowledge base of Samen Tegen Voedselverspilling to continuously improve our approach. Allergies and dietary requirements

Yes, at Kiem we are happy to take allergies and dietary requirements into account. Let us know what is important when you order (preferably 7 days in advance), and we will ensure that everyone can enjoy our dishes without any worries. Do you have specific questions? Feel free to contact us!

Yes, we can certainly accommodate a gluten-free diet. Everything is gluten-free and no gluten is processed in our kitchen.

Absolutely! Our catering is 100% plant-based and therefore completely vegan. Everything we prepare is not only sustainable, but also surprisingly tasty, colorful and nutritious. Want to know more about our offer? Feel free to contact us!

Yes, definitely! Do you, or someone in your party, have a less common dietary requirement? Think of a garlic and onion-free diet, low-sodium, sugar-free, low-carb, low-histamine, overcoming MS, a nightshade allergy, a diet without sunflower oil, or the low FODMAP diet. We have experience with most dietary requirements and will prepare a suitable dish with love.
